Reality of the EWEC development and COVID-19 pandemic

Thai/Myanmar border crossing communities emphasized the Special Economic Development Zone and the Contract Farming Promotion and Development Act by the Thai government have changed their way of life and also changed agricultural communities from practicing traditional integrated farming to contract farming.

Realized the cross-border issues

Mae Sot/Thailand communities raised these issues: loss of land, unfair contract farming rules reduced the bargaining power of the local people, soil erosion, and disappearance of local shops. Revitalization of traditional integrated farming was suggested for the issues.
